The number one solution for a permanent smile.

The Basics

What are dental implants?

Missing teeth can wreak havoc on your oral health and overall well-being. From difficulties chewing and speaking, shifting teeth, bite problems, jawbone deterioration, and gum recession, gaps in your smile can affect your overall health and self-confidence. Although missing teeth can cause many issues, our Type A Dentistry team has a permanent solution: Dental implants!

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots surgically placed into the jawbone to provide a stable foundation for replacement teeth. Dental implants can provide a durable, functional, and natural-looking smile with an implant post, abutment, and crown. With dental implants, you can achieve a stunning, flawless smile that you'll be proud to show off!

Your Options

Dental implant options designed
around your smile needs

Single Implants

Single implants are used to replace one missing tooth. This self-supported, permanent tooth replacement option offers stability, functionality, and a natural appearance to those wanting to replace the gap left by a missing tooth!

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges restore a row of missing teeth by connecting a prosthetic tooth to neighboring teeth or dental implants, seamlessly “bridging” the void left by missing teeth. This implant option can restore your chewing and speaking abilities, prevent teeth from shifting where they shouldn't, and distribute bite forces properly.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures anchor securely to dental implants, offering a stable, comfortable fit that feels and functions more like natural teeth. By preventing slipping and reducing bone loss, they restore chewing power and confidence in your smile. With proper care, these dentures provide a long-lasting, life-changing solution for patients seeking stability beyond traditional removable dentures.

Full-Mouth Dental Implants

Full-mouth dental implants are a comprehensive solution that replaces an entire set of teeth with a secure, permanent fixture anchored to dental implants. This procedure restores function and aesthetics, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile confidently. Designed to look and feel like natural teeth, full-mouth implants offer a durable, long-lasting solution that enhances quality of life and oral health.

The Process

What you can expect from
the dental implant process

01

Consultation & Planning

When planning for dental implants, we first need to ensure you're a candidate for dental implants. While dental implants are the number one solution to restore missing teeth, we will never overdiagnose. If dental implants are the best solution to your smile needs, we will begin with an in-depth consultation where we will review your medical and dental history, discuss your concerns and smile goals, and talk about how you want dental implants to improve your smile.

We will also thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, soft tissue, and bite and take diagnostic images such as X-rays and CBCT scans to identify potential issues not visible during the clinical exam. With this information, we will create a detailed treatment plan just for your smile!

02

Procedure & Same-Day Teeth

During the implant surgery, we will place a titanium implant post into your jawbone at a carefully planned location. To do this, we will make small incisions to your gums to expose the underlying jawbone.

The implant is then meticulously screwed into position, and an abutment connector is attached. Then, we will attach a temporary set of teeth, so you never have to go without teeth!

03

Follow-Up Appointment

During your follow-up appointments, we will evaluate your healing process and the stability of your implants. We will also assess your bite and make necessary adjustments to the teeth to ensure it's functional and comfortable.

04

Healing & Final Restorations

Dental implants' healing and final restoration are crucial stages that guarantee your new teeth's lasting success and effectiveness. During osseointegration, your jawbone will fuse with the implant post, creating a strong and stable foundation for the final restoration.

After your gums have healed and the implant has completely fused with the bone, you'll proceed to the final restoration phase, where the artificial tooth or teeth will be attached to the implant. Once the final restoration is placed, you can enjoy a rejuvenated smile you'll want to show off!
